Eyjolfsstadir farm is a part of forrestry program, where more than 120 hectars (1.200.000 m2) of forrest has been planted since 1990. It also has one of the old and original Birch forrests, that for half a century the Iceland Forrest Service (Skógrækt Ríkisins) has been planting as well as preserving the old forest. There you'll find great hiking trails and a magnificent view over to the Lake Lagarfljót. Horse RentalsClose to Eyjolfsstadir, you can find place where you can enjoy riding the famous Icelandic horse (pony). In Hallormsstaður forrest, you will find a horse rental (near the old school house). There you will find beautiful riding tracks in the most famous forrests in Iceland between the mountains and the beautiful lake of Lagarfljot. In direction to Egilsstadir, only few minutes drive you will find the horse rental of Utnyrdingsstadir were you can also experience the rugged nature of the east of Iceland on the back of a horse and with a professional guidance. Travellers can for instance see in words and pictures how Kárahnjúkar Power Plant was built. Fishing in Grímsá riverThrough the land of Eyjolfsstadir, runs the river Grímsá.
